Maria Sabato is a multidisciplinary artist with background studies in photography. Her practical research has been strongly influenced by the idea of geographical and symbolical displacement - a result of being immersed in cities like Rio de Janeiro, Buenos Aires and Madrid.
Her practice often situates her body at the center of critical feminist thinking via public performances, video installations, participatory interventions and collaborations with non-artistic networks. She is currently living in Basel.
